Accessibility Statement
Everyone of legal drinking age should be able to use this site.
1. Our commitment
Disco Beverage Inc. is committed to making discobeverage.com accessible to as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, magnification, keyboard-only navigation, speech input, or who have low vision, color vision deficiency, cognitive differences or motion sensitivity.
Accessibility is not a one-off project. We treat it as part of building and maintaining the Site, and we fix problems as we find them.
2. The standard we follow
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. We also build with the Americans with Disabilities Act and, where relevant, Section 508 and the European Accessibility Act in mind.
Current status: partially conformant. Most of the Site meets Level AA. Some parts do not yet fully conform, see section 5.
3. What we have built in
- Keyboard access. Every interactive element (including the age gate, navigation, accordions and forms) can be reached and operated by keyboard alone. Focus is visible at all times with a high-contrast outline.
- Focus management. The age gate traps focus while it is open so keyboard and screen-reader users cannot tab behind it, and focus moves to the first action when it appears.
- Skip link. A “Skip to content” link is the first focusable element on every page.
- Semantic structure. Real landmarks (
header, nav, main, footer), oneh1per page and a logical heading order, so screen-reader users can navigate by structure. - Text alternatives. Meaningful images have descriptive alternative text; decorative images and background video are hidden from assistive technology.
- Color contrast. Body and interface text is tested against WCAG AA ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and interface components).
- Color is never the only cue. Links, errors and states carry text or shape as well as color.
- Forms. Every field has a visible, programmatically associated label, required fields are marked in text as well as by attribute, and errors are announced rather than shown by color alone.
- Responsive and zoomable. Layouts reflow to 320 CSS pixels wide and support 200% text-only zoom and 400% page zoom without loss of content or function.
- No autoplaying sound. Background video is muted, decorative and carries no information needed to understand the page.
- Touch targets. Interactive controls are sized for comfortable touch use.
4. Motion and animation
The Site uses scroll-driven animation and video. If your operating system is set to reduce motion, we detect that and turn essentially all of it off, reveals become instant, parallax stops, and looping video does not autoplay.
You can enable that setting here:
- macOS: System Settings › Accessibility › Display › Reduce motion
- iOS / iPadOS: Settings › Accessibility › Motion › Reduce Motion
- Windows: Settings › Accessibility › Visual effects › Animation effects
- Android: Settings › Accessibility › Remove animations
Nothing on the Site flashes more than three times per second.
5. Known limitations
We would rather tell you than let you find out. As of the review date:
- Third-party ordering platforms. Once you follow an ordering link you are on a licensed retailer’s site, which we do not control or test. If you hit a barrier there, contact us and we will help you complete your order another way.
- Embedded social content. Posts embedded from Instagram, TikTok or similar are rendered by those platforms and may not meet AA.
- Horizontal galleries. The scrolling image rails are operable by keyboard and by swipe, but do not yet expose explicit previous and next buttons. Adding them is on our list.
- Video captions. Our background clips are decorative and silent, so they need no captions. Any future video with narration or dialogue will ship with captions and a transcript.
- Older PDFs. Any trade or press PDF produced before this review may not be fully tagged. Ask us and we will send an accessible version.
6. How we assess accessibility
- Manual keyboard-only walkthrough of every page and every interactive component.
- Screen-reader testing with VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, and NVDA on Windows.
- Automated scanning for contrast, alternative text, landmark and label issues.
- Zoom and reflow testing at 200% text and 400% page zoom, and at 320 pixels wide.
- Testing with reduced-motion preferences on and off.
We review the whole Site at least annually and check any significant new page or component before it goes live.
7. Need help using the site?
If any part of the Site stops you doing something (finding a retailer, submitting a course inquiry, reading a policy) contact us and a person will do it with you or for you. There is no form you have to fight through to get help.
8. Report a barrier
We want to hear about it. Please tell us:
- The page address
- What you were trying to do
- What happened instead
- Your browser, device and any assistive technology you use, if you know it
